Green Community Talks

Romanian Erasmus+ National Agency is inviting Erasmus Community Members: school education representatives, adult education representatives, vocational education and training representatives to an online event where we hold space for sharing ideas and good practices in: 

• greening our organizational processes 
• greening our educational processes 
• build sustainability in the life of the organization 
• build sustainable educational spaces for sustainable learning results

We will meet at 15.00 CET (Brussels time) with people from Europe, and we will have the chance to join whichever talk is more relevant to each of us.

In the 3 hours and a half that we will be spending together you can select the topics that you want to have a community talk on: 

• What is sustainability and what are the ways to approach it in any type of organizations, with a focus on organizations in Education
• Green and greener buildings - making old and new educational buildings friendlier with nature
• Waste-related policies and procedures - how to reduce waste in your school/ organization
• Sustainable ways to approach food in educational institutions - from lunch to school gardening and composting
• A nature-friendly communication - how to create policies for communication (internal, external: from promotion to dissemination) that are sustainable and do no harm to the environment
• Educational materials - how we create them or select them according to our respect for nature; how can we create better resources policies in schools
• Nature-based education: forest schools, forest kindergartens, outdoor education
• Taking education outside - examples of outdoor education in formal and non-formal contexts
• Education for Sustainable Development - what we learned from the UN decade of ESD
• ODD in our organizations - what to do with them?
• If the climate is changing - the educational goals should change
• Fridays for Future - more than signs: what can we do with FFF and what can we learn from them? and more
  

Each of these topics will be discussed in a breakout room and each breakout room will have as host practitioners from different organizations and groups in Europe. You will get the chance to meet experts in nature-based education, edupreneurs that had nature in mind when they started their projects, education managers that are greening their organizations, environment protection specialists and activists.

15.00 - 15.30 Welcome session

15.30 - 16.30 First round of discussions (you choose what topic/ breakout room you want to join)

16.30 - 17.00 Break

17.00 - 18.00 Second round of discussions (you choose what topic/ breakout room you want to join)

18.00 - 18.30 Closing session 

We will start our meeting as a big group - the beginning of a longer journey through sustainability that we can have together. We will explore our event context, and we will set our own intentions for the event. For two hours we will have the chance to explore two topics from the list above. We will close the meeting reflecting on our intentions and on our next step after this meeting.

So, invite 1 or 2 colleagues from your organization and join us online. If your team is there, your team will have the chance to explore the topics that are important for your organization now. 

Following the event, a best practices guide with concrete examples of individual, organizational and community activities that can make a difference for a greener planet will be developed and sent to all participants.

The event will take place online on the Zoom platform, free of charge. An account is required and login details will be received after registration and validation.
